Brownie Troop #71

I have had a couple of parents ask me what try-its we will be working on this year. So far, Amy, Angie, and I have come up with:

1. Animals
2. Caring and Sharing
3. Safety Sense
4. Cookies Count

A couple of girls have expressed an interest in:

1. Colors and Shapes
2. Numbers and Shapes
3. My Body

so, we might do one or two of these.

If you have one picked out you would like to work on just let one of us know. We would be happy to help in anyway that we can! If you are doing a try-it at home we will have a form for you to fill out to tell us about what you did to earn the patch. You will also need to bring one thing in to show the rest of the girls.

This is meant to be fun, so have fun and try something new!!

Lawrence County Humane Society

Come and join us for a special opportunity to be a part fo the Lawrence County Humane Society experience. This is a chance for you to bring mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, anyone special to you and learn more about animals. We will have the opportunity to learn about the care of animals, health, safety, and grooming issues. Who works at the Humane Society?

Part of our job as a Brownie Troop is to do things for our community. What can we do to help the Humane Society? What can we do to help the animals of Lawrence County?

The Bedford Christmas Parade

on December 2nd at noon.

Every year Bedford puts on a wonderful parade! Our troop has the chance to join in the fun. Do we want to be a part of this? What would we gain from being involved with this? What can we give to the community be being a part of this?

We can purchase a parade fun patch for attending this event. They are $1.00 each. What do you think? Are we going to be in the 2006 Christmas Parade?

Service Day - November 13th

* Bring candy to donate to the troops
* Bring your pictures you have colored or drawn
* Make a list of things we can thank the troops for

What can we do to thank people in our community, teachers, police officers, firefighters, and our troops? What can we make? What can we draw, color, write, record? How can we thank all these special people for the great job that they do for us everyday?

Some ideas:

* Make dog treats
* Decorate bags to put candy and treats in

What can you think of? What can we do?

Also, please bring back your permission slips for Women in Sports Day at IU. We would love to take all of the girls with us!! Please include with the form, money for a badge or t-shirt if you would like one! This is a great day for girls to see what types of sports are available to girls and how much fun it is to get involved with something you enjoy!
